BESS Senior Electrical Superintendent

Moss Construction, a nationally recognized EPC and construction management firm specializing in solar energy and battery storage systems, seeks a BESS Senior Electrical Superintendent to oversee field execution and coordinate multiple utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across the United States. This role reports to the Vice President of Electrical Field Operations and involves substantial travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage field execution and daily operations across multiple utility-scale solar and BESS projects
• Plan, schedule, and organize construction activities; coordinate timely and cost-effective placement of contracted work
• Supervise all field construction work performed by company forces and subcontractors, directly or through subordinate superintendents
• Oversee and enforce safety and quality control policies and procedures across project sites
• Support and mentor direct reports; conduct performance reviews and onboard salaried personnel
• Interface with project owners on construction progress, resource allocation, and program-level coordination
• Collaborate with Project Management on subcontract administration and resource management across portfolio
• Create and enforce best practices for electrical field operations
• Coordinate project closeout, including documentation and final inspections
• Develop and monitor safety initiatives and improvement programs
• Assist in procurement and engineering schedule management; support creation and optimization of project schedules
• Coordinate shared resources across projects and manage subcontracted resources
• Prepare budget and schedule reports; support project change discussions with executives
• Participate in front-end design involvement and internal design review coordination
• Coordinate with Pre-Construction on site visits and estimating for upcoming projects
• Liaise across departments (QC, commissioning, substation) on resource expectations and coordination needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 5 years of hands-on experience as General Superintendent on utility-scale solar and BESS projects
• Journeyman or Master electrician's license (NASCLA or equivalent electrical proficiency certification), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• STS-C (Solar Training and Safety) Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Demonstrated experience supervising multiple direct reports and leading project teams
• Willingness to travel extensively across multiple states
