Job Description

Pearce Services seeks an entry-level Field Maintenance Technician to support operations and maintenance across renewable energy sites, battery storage facilities, and critical infrastructure in the Cleveland, Ohio area. You will rotate between warehouse and shop projects and field assignments at commercial solar farms and energy storage installations, working under experienced technicians to develop hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical systems. This position requires 100% travel availability on a 6 weeks on, 1 week off schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment at various customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Install and maintain conduit, cable trays, brackets, supports, and related infrastructure.
  • Support warehouse, fleet, and shop operations including equipment maintenance and inventory organization.
  • Assist field technicians with maintenance and repairs at commercial solar farms and battery energy storage sites.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely.
  • Document completed work accurately and adhere to company safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, automotive, manufacturing, military, industrial work, or equivalent; or completion of a trade school program.
  • Mechanical aptitude and foundational understanding of electrical systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally move up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working on concrete floors.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights between 6 and 30 feet.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools including drills, saws, wrenches, and measuring instruments.
  • Experience operating or willingness to learn operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and lifts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time on a 6 weeks on, 1 week off rotational schedule.
  • Based in Cleveland, Ohio for occasional onsite work.
