Field Maintenance Technician, Entry Level

Pearce Services seeks an entry-level Field Maintenance Technician in Detroit, Michigan to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment across warehouses, industrial facilities, commercial solar sites, and battery energy storage installations. This position requires 100% travel on a 6-weeks-on, 1-week-off rotation, with a focus on building foundational skills in renewable energy and critical infrastructure maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Install and maintain conduit, cable trays, brackets, supports, shelving, and structural equipment as needed
• Support warehouse, fleet, and shop operations, including equipment maintenance and organization
• Assist experienced field technicians with maintenance and repairs at commercial solar farms and battery energy storage sites
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists
• Maintain accurate work documentation and follow company safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

• 1 year of hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, automotive, manufacturing, military, industrial work, or completion of a trade school program
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 6–30 feet
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working on concrete floors
• Proficiency with hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, measuring tools)
• Willingness and ability to travel 100% following a 6-weeks-on, 1-week-off rotational schedule
• Residence in Detroit, Michigan for onsite work as required
