Job Description

Pearce Services seeks an entry-level Field Maintenance Technician for its Richmond, Virginia operations. This role involves routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment at warehouses, shops, commercial solar farms, and battery energy storage sites across the region. The position requires 100% travel on a 6-weeks-on, 1-week-off rotational schedule, with hands-on work in industrial and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify and resolve issues safely and efficiently
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Install and maintain conduit, cable trays, brackets, supports, shelving, and related equipment
  • Support warehouse, fleet, and shop operations, including equipment maintenance and organization
  • Assist experienced field technicians with maintenance and repairs at commercial solar installations and battery energy storage facilities
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely
  • Maintain accurate work documentation and adhere to company safety procedures
  • Keep work environments clean, organized, and safe

Requirements

  • 1 year of hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, automotive, manufacturing, military, industrial work, or related field; or completion of a trade school program
  • Mechanical aptitude and foundational understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally move up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights between 6 and 30 feet
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling on concrete floors
  • Proficiency with hand tools (wrenches, measuring tools) and power tools (drills, saws)
  • Capability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and lifts when required
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time on a 6-weeks-on, 1-week-off schedule
  • Residence in Richmond, Virginia for onsite work
