Job Description
Sunrun, the largest residential solar and battery company in the U.S., seeks an Installer for its Los Angeles operations. You will work as a core member of residential solar installation crews, partnering with forepersons and lead installers to complete PV system projects from layout and assembly through final cleanup. The role offers cross-functional training through Sunrun's Power+ program, enabling work across qualifying, installation, inspection, and service roles to build job security and advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Maintain personal safety, crew safety, and job-site safety at all times; participate in training on new products, installation methodology, and safety protocols
- Inventory materials at the loading dock and ensure installation crew trucks are fully stocked per project specifications
- Complete layout, assembly, and installation of solar modules, PV racking, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment per project plans
- Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and building support mechanisms
- Perform project cleanup of client sites and installation vehicles
Requirements
- Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
- Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance work
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
- Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching tasks
- Proficiency with fall protection harnesses, ladders, and other personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
- Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
- Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
- Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate safety protections
