Solar Technician II

Enbridge is seeking a Solar Technician II to support operations and maintenance at its solar facility in Cisco, Texas. In this full-time, non-union role, you will maintain and troubleshoot inverters, DC field systems, and Balance of Plant equipment while adhering to electrical safety protocols and maintaining plant uptime.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on inverters, DC field systems, and Balance of Plant equipment following defined schedules and work plans
• Perform diagnostic and problem-solving work using tools such as Fluke meters and SCADA systems to identify equipment issues
• Read, interpret, and apply electrical, mechanical, and civil drawings to guide maintenance work
• Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO) and implement electrical safety protocols on all work
• Complete scheduled plant maintenance on time and in compliance with safe work practices
• Maintain accurate time reporting and record all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Management System (Maximo)
• Monitor equipment status, gather operational data, and escalate issues outside trained skill level to appropriate personnel
• Identify operational risks and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight
• Contribute to development or improvement of maintenance procedures
• Respond to emergency and on-call maintenance needs on a scheduled rotating basis

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in solar operations, maintenance, or related power systems work
• Proficiency with basic and advanced troubleshooting methods
• Working knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, PV arrays, trackers, and power plant systems
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings
• Skill with SCADA systems and solar monitoring software
• Proficiency with Maximo or similar Maintenance Management Systems
• Competency with basic power tools and hand tools
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and standard office software
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly
• Physical capabilities including grasping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, and the ability to work in tight spaces
• Visual acuity to read fine print, detect color coding, and view computer screens
• Hearing capability sufficient to operate in an industrial environment
• Willingness to undergo background screening, including 5-year driving record review, criminal check, and company-sponsored medical and drug testing
