Job Description

Enbridge is seeking a Solar Technician III to support operations and maintenance at Sequoia Solar I & II in Cisco, Texas. This full-time, non-union role focuses on the reliable operation of inverters, DC field equipment, and balance-of-plant systems at a utility-scale solar facility. You will troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues, lead maintenance execution, and respond to both scheduled and emergency service needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute maintenance work in compliance with electrical safety, work-at-height, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and hazardous energy control procedures
  • Follow maintenance schedules and written/verbal instructions to complete preventative maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repairs on DC and AC solar equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using test equipment (e.g., Fluke meter), SCADA data, and electrical/mechanical/hydraulic drawings
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians on issues outside their trained skill level
  • Conduct scheduled solar panel maintenance safely and on schedule
  • Record maintenance activities, time reporting, and test results in the Maintenance Management System (Maximo)
  • Identify operational risks and gaps, implement mitigation strategies, and escalate as needed
  • Assist in developing or improving maintenance procedures and service protocols
  • Participate in technical and safety investigations; prepare related reports
  • Respond to emergency and unplanned maintenance on a 24/7 on-call, scheduled basis

Requirements

  • Associate degree or vocational certificate in electrical field, OR minimum 3 years of documented Solar Maintenance Electrician experience plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience (combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Proficiency reading, interpreting, and understanding electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems and SCADA-based equipment
  • Hands-on experience maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing PV solar equipment (DC and AC systems)
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other industrial safety protocols
  • Demonstrated expertise in preventative maintenance, asset integrity inspections, and diagnostic troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and digital systems
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
  • Physical capability to perform grasping, kneeling, light-to-moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, and working in tight spaces
  • Visual acuity to read screens, detect color coding, and read fine print
  • Adequate hearing for normal workplace communication
  • Willingness to undergo background screening including 5-year driving record check, criminal background check, medical evaluation, and drug screening
  • Availability for occasional travel to support other Enbridge facilities
