Job Description

Canadian Solar seeks a Service Technician to commission and maintain battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Ontario. Based remotely with frequent onsite travel (50%+), you'll perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Block units, troubleshoot equipment under Long Term Service Agreements, and ensure system availability and performance targets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Commission CSI Energy Storage's SolBank Storage Power Block systems
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SPBs to meet warranty requirements
  • Conduct onsite diagnostic and troubleshooting support to maintain equipment availability and capacity guarantees
  • Supervise sub-contractors on site when required
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
  • Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures
  • Analyze system performance data to identify root cause and performance trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on service experience in renewable energy or related field
  • Knowledge of general and national electrical codes, medium voltage power systems, and photovoltaic or energy storage system applications
  • Ability to travel to regional project sites throughout Ontario, 50%+ of the time
  • Experience with CMMS software (preferred)
