Job Description

Canadian Solar's e-Storage subsidiary seeks a Senior Service Technician to commission, maintain, and troubleshoot Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment—specifically the SolBank Storage Power Block—across Ontario. Based remotely, you'll travel to project sites to perform preventative and corrective maintenance, ensure warranty compliance, and fulfill Long Term Service Agreement obligations for energy storage installations.

Responsibilities

  • Commission SolBank Storage Power Block units at customer sites
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on storage systems to meet warranty and performance requirements
  • Conduct onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on repair to maintain equipment availability and capacity guarantees
  • Supervise and oversee sub-contractors during project execution
  • Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical switching procedures safely and correctly
  • Analyze system performance data to identify root causes and performance trends
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and service processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience with energy storage or renewable power generation equipment
  • Knowledge of general and national electrical codes and medium voltage power systems
  • Proficiency with photovoltaic and energy storage system applications
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software preferred
  • Ability to travel to regional locations throughout Ontario 50% or more of the time
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
