Job Description

Canadian Solar seeks a Senior Service Technician for its remote Halifax, Nova Scotia office to commission, maintain, and support battery energy storage systems (BESS) across North American project sites. Based within the Service department and reporting to the Regional Service Manager, you will manage SolBank Storage Power Block equipment under Long Term Service Agreements, traveling to customer installations to diagnose issues, execute maintenance, and ensure system performance meets contractual guarantees.

Responsibilities

  • Commission CSI Energy Storage's SolBank Storage Power Block systems
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SPBs to meet warranty and service agreement obligations
  • Conduct onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment availability and capacity performance
  • Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors on site as required
  • Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures per safety standards
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify root causes and performance trends
  • Contribute to development of standard operating procedures and service processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience in renewable energy or power systems
  • Knowledge of medium voltage power systems, photovoltaic systems, and battery energy storage applications
  • Understanding of general and national electrical codes and standards
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software preferred
  • Ability to travel over 50% of the time to regional project sites across the US

Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000–$115,000 annually, plus performance bonus
