Job Description
e-STORAGE, a Canadian Solar subsidiary, seeks a Senior Service Technician for the Dallas/North Texas region to commission, maintain, and troubleshoot battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related power infrastructure at utility-scale project sites across the US. This is a field-based role involving frequent travel (over 50% of the time) to fulfill long-term service agreements and support system availability and performance guarantees.
Responsibilities
- Commission SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) systems and associated BESS equipment
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SPBs, Energy Storage Cabinets (ESCs), Power Conversion Stations (PCS), Ring Main Units (RMUs), switchgear, and transformers to meet warranty and Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) obligations
- Conduct onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on repair to maintain equipment availability and capacity guarantees
- Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures according to safety protocols
- Supervise and oversee sub-contractors at project sites when required
- Support SCADA and networking device operation and maintenance
- Provide technical training to clients during commissioning phases
- Complete and maintain accurate work order documentation
- Track and manage spare parts inventory
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures and processes
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and site-specific rules and policies
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience in renewable energy or similar industrial equipment environments
- OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 accepted if OSHA 30 obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Formal training and practical knowledge of inverters
- SCADA system experience
- Working knowledge of general and national electrical codes, medium-voltage power systems, and battery energy storage system applications
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
- First Aid certification
- Ability to travel to regional project sites as needed (over 50% of the time)
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software preferred
