Job Description

e-STORAGE, a Canadian Solar Inc. subsidiary, designs and integrates advanced battery energy storage systems for utility-scale projects. We are seeking a Senior Service Technician based in the Greater Houston area to commission and maintain SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) systems and manage Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) for battery energy storage projects across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Commission SolBank Storage Power Block units
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SPBs in accordance with warranty requirements
  • Manage and support BESS equipment under LTSAs, including Energy Storage Cabinets, Power Conversion Stations, Ring Main Units/Switchgear, Transformers, and SCADA/networking devices
  • Provide onsite diagnostic troubleshooting and hands-on repair to maintain equipment availability and capacity guarantees
  • Supervise sub-contractors on site as needed
  • Execute proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures
  • Support client training during system commissioning
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and processes
  • Complete work order documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain spare parts inventory accuracy
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and compliance policies

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience in renewable energy or related equipment
  • OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 10 acceptable if OSHA 30 obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • First Aid Training
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inverter systems and operation
  • SCADA systems experience
  • Knowledge of general and national electrical codes, medium voltage power systems, and energy storage system applications
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to travel to regional project sites, including over 50% of work time
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
