Sr. Service Technician - Greater San Antonio

e-STORAGE, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., seeks a Senior Service Technician to commission and maintain battery energy storage systems (BESS) for utility-scale projects across the Greater San Antonio region and beyond. This field-based role involves hands-on service work on SolBank Storage Power Block equipment and related infrastructure under long-term service agreements, with significant travel throughout the US.

Responsibilities

• Commission SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB) units at project sites
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SPB equipment to meet warranty and service agreement requirements
• Service battery energy storage system components including Energy Storage Cabinets (ESCs), Power Conversion Stations (PCS), Ring Main Units (RMUs), switchgear, and transformers
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair SCADA and networking devices
• Provide onsite technical support to maintain equipment availability and capacity guarantees
• Oversee and supervise subcontractors on site as needed
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures according to safety protocols
• Complete and document work orders accurately and timely
• Maintain spare parts inventory records
• Support client training during system commissioning
• Contribute to development of standard operating procedures and processes

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment
• OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 10 acceptable if OSHA 30 obtained within first months of employment)
• First Aid Training
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel over 50% of the time to regional and national project locations
• Hands-on knowledge of inverter systems and operation
• SCADA system experience
• Knowledge of medium-voltage power systems and general/national electrical codes
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Experience with CMMS software preferred
