Sr. Service Technician - Tucson, AZ

Canadian Solar's e-Storage division is seeking a Senior Service Technician to join its field service team in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will commission, maintain, and troubleshoot utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), including SolBank Storage Power Blocks and associated equipment, across project sites throughout the US. You'll work under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) to ensure equipment availability and performance, and will supervise subcontractors and support client training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Commission and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SolBank Storage Power Blocks (SPBs) to meet warranty requirements
• Service BESS equipment and components under LTSA obligations, including Energy Storage Cabinets (ESCs), Power Conversion Stations (PCS), Ring Main Units (RMUs), switchgear, transformers, SCADA, and networking devices
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment faults onsite to maintain system availability and capacity guarantees
• Oversee and direct subcontractors during field service work
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and switching procedures according to safety protocols
• Assist with client training during system commissioning
• Develop and document standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Complete and submit work order documentation accurately and on schedule
• Track and verify spare parts inventory levels

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience in renewable energy or related power generation equipment
• OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 10 accepted if OSHA 30 is obtained within 6 months of hire)
• Knowledge of inverter operation and troubleshooting
• SCADA system experience
• Understanding of general and national electrical codes, medium voltage power systems, and energy storage system applications
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• First Aid certification
• Willingness to travel to regional project sites more than 50% of the time
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Prior experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software preferred
