Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Pearce Services is hiring an Advanced BESS Technician for operations and maintenance work on battery energy storage systems. The position covers commercial and industrial sites in the New Haven, Connecticut area, with candidates required to reside within 50 miles. Pearce delivers technical services for electromechanical infrastructure as a subsidiary of CBRE Group, Inc.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System equipment.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out of equipment as an authorized person under approved LOTO conditions.
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions that include pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments, and Risk Assessments.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers on site activities.
• Support site field work, including supervision of teams with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• 2-4+ years of electrical proficiency with electrical systems and components.
• 2-4+ years of renewable energy experience preferred.
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or NFPA 70E preferred.
• Valid driver's license held for at least one year.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, stand for prolonged periods, and perform tasks in ergonomic positions across varied climates.
• Compliance with OSHA standards.
