Job Description

Pearce Services is hiring a Telecommunications Lead Installer - Level IV for our Sacramento, California office. In this role, you will lead installation, reconfiguration, removal, and maintenance of Central Office equipment including transmission, power, infrastructure, and fiber systems while supervising assigned crew members. You'll work on a range of complex telecommunications projects with minimal supervision, managing both technical execution and team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Level IV installation duties per Telco Standard TP76300 with high competence and accuracy as a working lead with assigned team members
  • Master comprehensive equipment installation across AC/DC power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, Central Office infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems
  • Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls
  • Install cable trays and racking from engineering drawings and documents
  • Install BDFBs and fuse panels with associated cabling
  • Identify, label, measure, terminate, and physically route AC/DC power and data transmission cables in various technical spaces
  • Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems
  • Perform advanced test and turn-up activities and system integration testing
  • Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise
  • Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work
  • Supervise lower-level installers and technicians in basic installation and testing requirements
  • Read, understand, and apply job specifications, installation documents, schematics, and test records
  • Generate Methods of Procedure (MOPs), high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
  • Review subordinate time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure all documentation is updated and accurate as required
  • Interface with customers, vendors, engineering, project management, and other company employees throughout project completion and equipment turnup
  • Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all items meet or exceed industry and customer standards
  • Resolve project-related issues using defined processes
  • Comply with all company and customer installation documentation system updates

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management
  • Prior leadership experience required
  • AT&T direct Central Office installation experience preferred
  • High school diploma with two years of technical school or combination of training and experience related to telecommunications field installations
  • Mastery of all Telco Standard TP76300 installation skills
  • Knowledge and experience with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, and Juniper
  • Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
  • Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications
  • MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass all pre-employment background checks and insurability verification
  • Valid passport preferred
  • Ability to vertically lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
  • Compliance with OSHA Standards required
  • Travel required within your home region and across the US without restrictions; extensive travel required
  • Ability to travel internationally is a plus
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts
