Job Description
Pearce Services, a CBRE subsidiary providing maintenance and engineering services for critical infrastructure including power, cooling, and telecom systems across North America, seeks a Telecommunications Lead Installer - Level IV for its Reno, Nevada location. You will direct installation, reconfiguration, removal, and maintenance of central office equipment including transmission, power, infrastructure, and fiber systems, supervising assigned crew members with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Master all installation skills per Telco Standard TP76300 and perform Installer Level IV duties with competence and accuracy as a working lead overseeing assigned team members
- Execute comprehensive equipment installation on AC/DC power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, central office infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems
- Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls
- Install cable trays and racking from engineering drawings and specifications
- Install BDFBs and fuse panels with associated cabling
- Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route AC/DC power and data cables in technical spaces
- Conduct hardware and software testing and document performance characteristics; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems
- Perform advanced test and turn-up and integration activities
- Read and follow Methods of Procedure, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation
- Generate Methods of Procedure, high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
- Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure work meets or exceeds industry and customer standards
- Supervise lower-level installers and technicians in basic installation and testing requirements
- Review subordinate time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise
- Comply with system update requirements for all company and customer installation documents
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management
- Prior leadership experience required
- High school diploma with two years technical school or combination of training and experience related to telecommunications field installations
- Experience with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, or equivalent
- Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
- Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications
- MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass all pre-employment background checks and be insurable
- Ability to vertically lift 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
- Travel required within home region and throughout the US without restrictions; ability to work a variety of shifts and travel extensively
- OSHA compliance capability
- AT&T direct central office installation experience a plus
- Valid passport a plus
- Ability to travel internationally a plus
