Job Description

This is a Solar Sales Representative role at Sunrun in Irvine, CA. The position is a direct seller, commission-only opportunity focused on residential solar and battery storage. Candidates must hold a valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License; those without it start as a Sales Scheduler paid at minimum wage and capped at 35 hours per week before transitioning to the full role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales within an assigned residential territory
  • Conduct door-to-door outreach, network locally, and follow up on referrals
  • Track sales activities and meet performance targets
  • Present solar and storage solutions to homeowners, explain financing options, and guide customers through the sales process
  • Educate homeowners on solar benefits including cost savings, clean energy, and energy independence
  • Attend weekly training meetings

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Preferred experience in direct or commission-based sales
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License required; candidates without the license begin in the Sales Scheduler position until the license is obtained
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions
