Job Description

The Solar Sales Representative role at Sunrun is located in Visalia, CA. This is a direct seller, commission-only position focused on residential solar and storage. Candidates without a required California Home Improvement Salesperson license begin as Sales Schedulers at minimum wage for up to 35 hours per week before transitioning to the full role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales within a designated residential territory.
  • Conduct door-to-door outreach, network in the community, and follow up on referrals.
  • Track sales activities and meet established performance targets.
  • Present solar and storage solutions to homeowners, explain financing options, and guide customers through the purchase process.
  • Educate homeowners on cost savings, clean energy benefits, and energy independence.
  • Attend weekly training meetings.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) license; candidates without the license are initially hired as Sales Schedulers at minimum wage capped at 35 hours per week and transition upon obtaining the license.
  • Direct or commission-based sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions.

Benefits

  • Compensation based on uncapped commission, with average earnings in California for the first 12 months ranging from $60,000 to $90,000 depending on personal performance; overall average ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 depending on location and performance; top 10% of new hires average $205,020; top performers can reach $300,000 or more; top 100 earners have reached $388,000 or more.
