Job Description

Sunrun is hiring a Certified Electrician 1 based in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The role centers on electrical work for residential solar arrays and battery storage systems, including interconnections to the grid and main panel upgrades. The position includes 5% travel and participation in the company's incentive program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of electrical systems connecting solar arrays to residential grid power.
  • Verify that all electrician work meets workmanship standards and complies with NEC and local codes.
  • Complete assigned solar battery storage installations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and resolve electrical problems.
  • Plan and perform main panel upgrades safely.
  • Coordinate with branch teams and homeowners on system upgrades or repairs.
  • Coordinate with local inspectors to meet requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Electrical installation and repair experience.
  • Experience wiring systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
  • Working knowledge of replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels preferred.
  • Valid Journeyman License or Electrician Certification meeting local and state requirements.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check.
  • Minimum age of 21 with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles, requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balancing.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wet conditions, humidity, and excessive noise.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks including grasping and pinching.
  • Ability to use ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment safely.
  • Ability to wear heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields.
  • Ability to maintain balance on roofs and elevated areas.
  • Ability to work in direct sun or low-light conditions.
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles without damage.
  • Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green.
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings.
  • Ability to handle chemicals with appropriate protection.
