Electrician- Desert Pine BESS

Primoris Renewable Energy is hiring an Electrician for the Desert Pine BESS project in Louisiana. The role centers on electrical installation, maintenance, and repair at a large-scale battery energy storage facility. Work involves systems such as batteries, inverters, transformers, and switchgear in a construction setting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to blueprints, schematics, and applicable electrical codes.
• Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on BESS electrical systems including batteries, inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions using testing devices and tools.
• Connect electrical power to equipment while following grounding and safety protocols.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to support project timelines.
• Record details of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
• Operate and maintain electrical tools and equipment.
• Provide training and supervision to apprentice electricians when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician license for the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician, with preference for renewable energy, industrial, or utility settings.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, principles, and practices including AC/DC circuits, control systems, and power distribution.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems or large-scale electrical infrastructure preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code and relevant local electrical codes.
• Capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
