Estimator - Low voltage

The Estimator - Low Voltage role at Rosendin Electric is based in the Pflugerville, TX office. The position prepares bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects, with a focus on low voltage systems and structured cabling. Rosendin is an employee-owned electrical contractor. The role requires up to 25% travel and involves a general office environment with occasional job site visits.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
• Prepare estimates by performing complete takeoffs of scope and entering data into a computer estimating system, then review printouts for accuracy.
• Request and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for equipment, materials, and sub-contract work.
• Itemize and quantify incidentals such as equipment rental, tools, and supplies for bid packages.
• Provide detailed scope, technical, and pricing reviews to the Chief Estimator or team before issuing formal bid packages.
• Meet with Project Management after successful bids to explain estimates, scope, and quotes for project transition.
• Complete all client-required documents on time and draft scope letters with inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; combination of education, training, and relevant experience accepted.
• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in low voltage systems and structured cabling installation.
• Experience with Trimble Accubid Anywhere estimating software preferred.
• Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems, perform required arithmetic calculations, and read and interpret blueprints or engineering design drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
• General work environment includes extended sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending; work primarily indoors with occasional job site exposure to noise; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
