Estimator I

The Estimator I role at Rosendin Electric is a salaried, entry-level position based at the company’s headquarters in California. This position assists in preparing bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects while working under general supervision on several small to medium projects. Rosendin Electric is an employee-owned electrical contractor.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of scope of work and entering data into the computer estimating system
• Review estimate printouts for accuracy and completeness using established procedures
• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for completeness relative to plans and specifications
• Provide detailed reviews of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for estimated bid packages to the Lead Estimator, Estimating Manager, or Chief Estimator
• Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications using existing templates
• Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimating assumptions and methodologies
• Contribute to timely completion of all client-required documents

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
• 0-2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction
• Basic experience or exposure in Accubid estimating software
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems
• Proficiency in performing arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, type, carry, push, and bend as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
• Travel up to 10%

• Pay range of $74,400.00-$97,700.00 annually, with variation based on location, experience, skills, and education
