Job Description

Venture Solar is hiring a Site Surveyor for residential solar installations in Middletown, DE. You'll conduct on-site assessments, measure roof facets, inspect structural and electrical conditions, and document findings for the engineering team. This role requires regular travel to installation sites and hands-on work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to residential solar installation sites throughout the service area
  • Measure roof facets and dimensions using ladders up to 32 feet
  • Access attics and crawl spaces to gather measurements and assess conditions
  • Perform structural inspections of roofs and mounting areas
  • Test electrical panel voltage and document electrical system information
  • Identify and assess potential hazards at each site
  • Document all survey data, measurements, and observations for transmission to the engineering team
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near-misses, and equipment issues
  • Verify equipment is in safe working condition and report deficiencies

Requirements

  • Valid, clean driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds regularly
  • Comfortable working on roofs and at heights on ladders
  • Comfortable working in and around electrical panels
  • Prior site survey, construction, or solar installation experience
  • Willingness to work Saturdays
  • Must complete company safety training before start date
  • Ability to use appropriate PPE including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses

Benefits

  • Full-time position, 40+ hours per week
  • Overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week
  • Salary: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
