Job Description

Solar.com is hiring a Pricing Analyst to maintain accurate pricing for solar installations across markets. The role is fully remote and focuses on owning installer pricing inputs, financing structures, and incentive data while verifying assumptions that support dollar-accurate quotes. The position sits on a small, outcome-focused team that emphasizes transparency and rapid iteration on solar purchasing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update pricing engine inputs including installer costs, adders, financing terms, taxes, and incentives by market.
  • Ensure quotes remain accurate to the dollar amid changes in markets, incentives, and policy.
  • Develop models and validation checks to identify pricing errors prior to customer visibility.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to convert pricing logic into tested, reliable code.
  • Track policy changes such as tax credits and state incentives and implement corresponding pricing adjustments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a pricing, finance, data, or analyst role.
  • Strong spreadsheet and SQL skills with demonstrated ability to work with messy real-world data.
  • Ability to verify assumptions and document reasoning processes.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on treating numerical inaccuracies as critical issues.
  • Familiarity with solar economics, financing, or utility rate structures (preferred).
  • Light scripting experience in Python or JavaScript for automating checks (preferred).
