Licensed Electrician

This position is for a Licensed Electrician at Sunrun in Des Plaines, IL. The role focuses on leading electrical work for residential solar arrays, battery storage systems, and main panel upgrades, with 5% travel. Compensation starts at $31.94 to $42.59 per hour plus performance incentives through The League program.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar arrays to customer residential grid power
• Ensure all electrician work meets workmanship standards and complies with current NEC and local codes
• Complete assigned solar battery installations
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues
• Safely plan and complete main panel upgrades
• Coordinate with branch teams and homeowners on system upgrades or repairs
• Work with local inspectors to meet requirements and expectations
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Electrical installation and repair experience
• Experience with wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
• Working knowledge of replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels preferred
• Valid Journeyman License or Electrician Certification, or equivalent per local and state requirements such as wireman license
• Clean driving record and ability to pass driving background check
• Minimum 21 years of age with valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balancing
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces requiring kneeling and crouching
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions including excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
• Ability to perform fine motor skills including fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
• Ability to use ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment
• Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields
• Ability to maintain balance on roofs and other elevated areas
• Ability to work in sun and low-light conditions
• Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage
• Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, and green
• Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
• Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protection
