Job Description

The EPC Senior Project Manager at SOLV Energy manages construction of utility scale solar projects from start to finish. This full-time onsite position is based at a jobsite in Clark County, NV and requires travel. SOLV Energy designs, builds, and maintains utility scale solar, battery storage, and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a Project Manager on multiple or large complex projects
  • Estimate and establish project budgets and contract prices using GMP or lump sum methods
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontracts and material purchases
  • Set up and implement procedures for timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
  • Keep projects on schedule
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors
  • Work with superintendents to develop and implement safety plans and procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to management
  • Manage, train, and supervise project team members
  • Organize regular meetings with management and subcontractors
  • Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with all terms
  • Document significant project events including accidents, delays, and change orders
  • Direct preconstruction services and activities
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages
  • Assist with business development and participate in job interviews
  • Maintain quality control on completed projects
  • Support estimating staff as a bid item specialist
  • Avoid or mitigate claims and conflicts
  • Complete all job close-out procedures
  • Conduct one-year warranty walks and follow-up
  • Complete projects with full or enhanced fee

Requirements

  • Engineering, construction management, or architectural degree or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of field construction management experience
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems including scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future
