Electrical Estimator - El Paso, TX

The Electrical Estimator II position at Rosendin Electric is located in El Paso, TX. This mid-level role prepares bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects on small- to medium-sized assignments, with support from senior estimators. Rosendin employs over 7,000 people and operates as an employee-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to establish project scope and requirements.
• Perform complete quantity takeoffs and input data into the computerized estimating system, then verify the output for accuracy.
• Identify and solicit quotes from qualified suppliers and subcontractors, checking submissions against plans and specifications.
• Itemize incidentals such as subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools, and supplies for bid packages.
• Guide staff on completion matrix preparation for assigned bids.
• Develop labor productivity factors and installation unit costs using projected site conditions and historical data, in coordination with senior estimators.
• Compile scope of work, technical details, and pricing for review by lead or chief estimators.
• Conduct project turnover meetings with the project management team to explain estimates, scope, and subcontractor quotes.
• Prepare scope letters that list inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Maintain organized files of working documents that support estimating assumptions and methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum three years of experience estimating data center or commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction.
• Advanced proficiency with Accubid estimating software.
• Proficiency with CAD or 3D modeling software preferred.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data, electrical systems, engineering drawings, specifications, and front-end documents.
• Capability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating and to solve practical problems involving limited standardization.
• Up to 10% travel.
• General office environment with extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs; exposure to outside weather conditions and jobsite noise levels ranging from low to loud.
