Job Description
The Construction Project Manager role at RES is a site-based position managing utility-scale EPC projects from start to finish. Primary location is Houston, Texas, with additional sites in Phoenix, Arizona; Waco, Texas; and Little Rock, Arkansas. The position requires full ownership of project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, contract administration, and client deliverables, with 76-100% travel expected.
Responsibilities
- Manage the HSE plan and ensure processes align with project requirements.
- Oversee client relationships, report project status and forecasts to stakeholders, and address concerns on schedule.
- Lead development and updates of the Project Execution Plan, including kickoff, close-out meetings, and construction permits.
- Collaborate on Level 3 schedules, identify and manage critical path activities, and coordinate with the Project Superintendent on EPC delivery.
- Track costs, allocate budget, forecast to completion, and manage procurement, subcontracts, and materials for profit improvement.
- Maintain understanding of contractual obligations, document changes, ensure flow-down to vendors, and manage change orders with required approvals and documentation.
- Drive risk management plans, implement preventive and corrective measures, and support timely decisions.
- Review and approve quality management plans and ITPs, track non-conformances in Procore, and close NCRs with cost documentation.
- Provide documents for EMS monitoring, support permitting, and ensure field staff maintain required certifications.
- Utilize SMS, QMS, EMS, and technical procedures; perform audits for compliance.
- Operate company vehicle safely in all conditions and commit to short- or long-term remote site assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience where 2 years of work experience equals 1 year of education.
- 4 or more years of EPC Project Management experience.
- 3 or more years of Solar or T&D EPC experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Advanced knowledge of project management best practices, estimating, change orders, project permits, QA/QC processes, project finance, contract management, sub-contractor and materials management, construction drawing review, quantity takeoff, engineering management, Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6), and job costing or accounting software.
- Ability to travel 76-100% of the time and commit to short- or long-term remote site assignments.
- Rarely required: climbing, crouching, kneeling, pulling/pushing/lifting 5-15 lbs., stooping.
- Occasionally required: carrying 5-15 lbs., gripping, handling, pinching, walking; exposure to noise and hazards.

- Rarely exposed to extreme cold, heat, humidity, or wet climates.

- Base salary range $122,000–$153,000; position is bonus eligible; final compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
