Job Description

Sunrun is hiring a Solar Sales Representative for its residential solar and battery storage operations in Santa Clarita, CA. The position is a direct-seller, commission-only role focused on territory development and homeowner outreach. Candidates without a California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) license are initially hired as Sales Schedulers at minimum wage for up to 35 hours per week and transition to the full commission role upon obtaining the license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales activity within an assigned residential territory
  • Conduct door-to-door outreach, network in the community, and follow up on referrals
  • Present solar and battery storage solutions to homeowners, explain financing options, and guide customers through the purchase process
  • Track sales activities and performance metrics against established goals
  • Attend weekly training meetings

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) license, or ability to obtain one prior to transitioning from Sales Scheduler role
  • Direct or commission-based sales experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions

  • Top 10% of new hires averaging $205,020 annually; top 100 earners across all tenure averaging $388,000 annually
