Job Description

Primoris Renewable Energy is hiring a Site Quality Manager for utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Texas. The role directs site quality assurance and control programs, monitors performance metrics, and ensures compliance with project specifications during construction. Work takes place at field-based renewable energy sites that include photovoltaic solar arrays and battery energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality activities across utility-scale PV and BESS project sites and evaluate construction processes to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with site teams to refine workflows, resource use, and project execution through process and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor project-specific KPIs, quality metrics, and performance trends, then analyze data to detect deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver regular reports to project stakeholders on findings, trends, and required responses while maintaining visibility into site quality performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies and facilitate problem-solving workshops and training.
  • Implement lessons learned and best practices in coordination with project leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with project quality plans, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations through audits, inspections, and documentation oversight.
  • Identify nonconformances and quality risks, then coordinate timely resolution with project teams including root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Identify quality training needs for site personnel and deliver instruction on company quality programs, procedures, and expectations.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and workload management to Site Quality Technicians across PV and BESS scopes, ensuring inspections and documentation are completed on schedule.
  • Collaborate with construction, engineering, commissioning, and project management teams to address quality challenges and support change initiatives.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting utility-scale PV solar projects.
  • Hands-on experience supporting utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, quality control, construction quality, process improvement, or project management within the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality practices, construction processes, and quality risks for utility-scale PV and BESS projects.
  • Experience with quality management systems, audits, inspections, corrective and preventive actions, root-cause analysis, and quality documentation.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools and data analysis software.
  • Ability to work in a field-based environment at industrial construction sites and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Must comply with client and project safety requirements for facial hair, clothing, footwear, and PPE.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces, and wear a respirator when required.
