Job Description

The Electrician Foreman - Cider role at Primoris Renewable Energy is based in New York and oversees electrical work on solar farm construction sites. Primoris Renewable Energy is an EPC provider specializing in utility and commercial scale solar power, energy storage, solar repower, and operations and maintenance. The position covers electrical installations from ground-up construction through final commissioning on solar projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of electricians, apprentices, and laborers on solar farm construction sites.
  • Plan, lay out, and oversee all aspects of electrical installations, including conduit bending, cable pulling, wire termination, and equipment hook-ups for inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to ensure compliant installations.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and ensure all work meets OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Perform quality control inspections of electrical work and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain project progression.
  • Manage and track material usage, equipment, and tools on site.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions.
  • Prepare daily reports on progress, challenges, and resource utilization.
  • Train and develop team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license required; Master Electrician license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role in renewable energy or heavy industrial construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical standards.
  • Proven experience with large-scale electrical installations including AC/DC systems, medium voltage, and grounding.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and megohmmeters.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel and work on projects across various locations as required.
