Job Description

Venture Solar is hiring a Site Surveyor in Hicksville, NY. The position involves traveling to solar installation sites to collect measurements and data for the engineering team. Daily work requires handling ladders, accessing rooftops and attics, and performing electrical and structural checks.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to installation sites
  • Move up to a 32-foot ladder from the vehicle to the house at each site
  • Climb ladders
  • Enter attics to obtain measurements
  • Measure all roof facets
  • Conduct structural inspections
  • Test electric panel voltage
  • Document all work performed at the site and transmit records to the engineering team
  • Assess potential solar installation sites for hazards
  • Use required PPE such as hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses
  • Document identified hazards and recommended safety measures
  • Report safety incidents or near-misses promptly and accurately
  • Perform regular checks on equipment to confirm safe working condition and report issues

Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Comfort working on roofs and at heights
  • Valid clean driver's license
  • Comfort working in or around electric panels
  • Availability to work Saturdays
  • Successful completion of all required safety training prior to start date

Benefits

  • Compensation of $20-25 per hour based on experience
  • Full-time schedule of 40+ hours per week with overtime pay for hours over 40 in one week
