Job Description

Venture Solar is hiring a Site Surveyor for its operations in Youngstown, OH. The position requires daily travel to residential installation sites to perform pre-construction assessments for photovoltaic systems. Site Surveyors work independently to gather roof and electrical data that is transmitted directly to the engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to conduct solar installation surveys
  • Transport and position a 32-foot ladder at each site
  • Climb ladders and access rooftops to measure all roof facets
  • Enter attics to obtain interior measurements
  • Perform structural inspections of roof areas
  • Test voltage at electric panels
  • Document site conditions and transmit records to the engineering team
  • Identify site hazards and document recommended safety measures
  • Report safety incidents or near-misses
  • Inspect survey equipment for safe operating condition

Requirements

  • Prior experience required
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
  • Valid clean driver’s license
  • Comfortable working in or around electric panels
  • Able to work Saturdays
  • Successful completion of company safety training prior to start date

Full-time schedule of 40+ hours per week with overtime pay for hours over 40. Compensation is $20–25 per hour based on experience.
