Job Description

This full-time Service Technician role is located in Orlando, FL, with Freedom Solar Power and requires regional travel. The position is hourly and non-exempt. Freedom Solar Power formed through the combination of Freedom Solar and Freedom HVAC and maintains operations across Texas and Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from dispatch for residential solar system issues.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair residential solar, storage, and off-grid systems.
  • Access rooftops to remove, replace, or repair solar panels as required.
  • Complete job disposition forms after each service call.
  • Process paperwork, timekeeping, and inventory for every service call.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Service Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Prior solar installation experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally on a frequent basis.
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes and residential PV design and components.
  • Understanding of residential AC systems using microinverters and DC systems using string or optimizer configurations.
  • Understanding of residential electrical systems and safe work practices around them.
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders, and work outdoors in hot and cold conditions.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and carrying under 15 lbs, straight pulling, and simple grasping.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and motor vehicles, including car travel up to 10% of the time.
