Field Service Technician - Chicago, IL (6 month Temporary Assignment)

Enphase Energy is hiring a Field Service Technician for a six-month temporary assignment in Chicago, Illinois. The role provides on-site support to distribution and installation partners for PV and storage systems. Regular travel of up to 50 percent is required, including out-of-state trips, overnight stays, and assignments lasting up to two consecutive weeks.

Responsibilities

• Service Enphase PV and storage systems in the assigned territory.
• Coordinate site visits with the scheduling team and homeowners while aligning with Enphase Customer Support.
• Perform onsite testing and diagnostics to evaluate system performance and identify issues.
• Work on rooftops and elevated structures on a regular basis.
• Complete solar maintenance reports and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform microinverter maintenance and update the Enlighten monitoring system to reflect all changes.
• Use standard field tools including drills, levels, squares, tape measures, and ladders.
• Install and route conduit, copper piping, and flexible tubing; pull and manage wiring as needed.
• Participate in regular safety training and follow all company safety protocols.
• Maintain tool inventory according to management standards.
• Follow OSHA safety standards on all job sites.
• Meet domestic travel requirements including valid identification acceptable for air travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of experience in electrical installation and service.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record and insurability.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret plan sets.
• Commercial or residential electrical license.
• NABCEP certification.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 60 pounds of tools and equipment.
• Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
• Safe operation of hand and power tools.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Ascend and descend ladders as required.
• Work on rooftops, uneven surfaces, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions with potential exposure to electrical hazards.

Benefits

• Hourly rate range of $29 to $42, varying based on experience, skills, and location.
