Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

The Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance) role at Pearce Services is based in McCamey, Texas, and supports operations and maintenance at commercial and industrial solar energy projects. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the McCamey area. The position involves hands-on work with battery energy storage systems at local sites.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person under properly executed LOTO conditions.
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Interact with vendors and customers.
• Support site work, which may include supervising field work onsite with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• 2-4+ years of electrical proficiency with electrical systems and components.
• 2-4+ years of renewable energy experience preferred.
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Electrical certifications preferred, such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least one year.
• Ability to work possible rotating shifts.
• Ability to perform prolonged standing and work in ergonomic challenging positions.
• Ability to work in varied climates.
• Compliance with OSHA standards.
