Job Description
Pearce Services seeks an Advanced Solar Field Service Technician for operations and maintenance work at solar energy facilities near Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility equipment, troubleshooting, and documentation at local sites within approximately 50 miles of the Minneapolis area.

This position is part of Pearce Renewables' Solar Operations and Maintenance Division and focuses on keeping solar power plants operating safely and efficiently according to established maintenance standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and sub-station equipment
- Troubleshoot and test installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation
- Perform electrical component diagnostics using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar diagnostic tools
- Execute work orders and maintain documentation including time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules
- Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) procedures during maintenance activities
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and in compliance with company policy and insurance requirements
- Work independently and collaboratively as needed
- Train and mentor laborers toward apprenticeship roles
- Escalate site issues promptly when necessary
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial or industrial operations and maintenance experience on solar power plants (preferred)
- Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment (preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills
- Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment from manufacturers such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI (preferred)
- Compliance with OSHA standards
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
- Residence within approximately 50 miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle safely and legally
- Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on-call service via telephone and text message
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as business needs require
- High work ethic and self-directed approach to problem-solving
