Job Description

Pearce Services, a technology-enabled asset management provider for electromechanical infrastructure, seeks an Advanced Solar Field Service Technician for operations and maintenance work at solar energy sites near Evansville, Indiana. This position involves preventative and corrective maintenance of utility-scale solar equipment with a focus on safety and technical professionalism.

About the Role

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician performs operations and maintenance tasks at solar power plants in the Evansville, Indiana area. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of solar utility equipment, equipment testing, and documentation of work activities. Candidates must reside within approximately 50 miles of Evansville.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and sub-station equipment
  • Troubleshoot and test installed solar equipment using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and related diagnostic tools
  • Perform electrical component troubleshooting with working knowledge of DC/AC systems and related infrastructure
  • Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules
  • Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) assessments
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per company policy and insurance requirements
  • Work independently and collaboratively as needed
  • Train and mentor apprentice-level laborers

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial operations and maintenance experience on solar power plants
  • Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment (TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI, or similar)
  • Compliance with OSHA standards
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and safe vehicle operation record
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call availability via telephone or text
  • Up to 25% travel as required
  • Residence within 50 miles of Evansville, Indiana

Compensation: $30.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience.
