Job Description

This Advanced Solar Field Service Technician role in the Pearce Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division supports O&M activities at solar power plants near Evansville, Indiana. Pearce Services provides technical maintenance and engineering services for renewable energy infrastructure and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of CBRE Group, Inc. The position covers local sites, with candidates required to reside within 50 miles of the Evansville area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and substation equipment.
  • Maintain documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control records, and emergency information schedules.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar tools.
  • Test and verify proper operation of installed solar equipment.
  • Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company handbook and insurance requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial O&M experience on solar power plants preferred.
  • Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation experience required.
  • Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or substation equipment such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI preferred.
  • Residence within approximately 50 miles of Evansville, Indiana required.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Capability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Tolerance for outdoor work in ambient temperatures.
  • Availability for weekend, holiday, and on-call work via telephone or text message.
  • Travel up to 25 percent as needed to support company operations.
