Job Description
The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) role at Pearce Services is located in Temple, Texas, and covers operation and maintenance work at solar energy sites within approximately 50 miles of the area. Pearce Services delivers technical maintenance, repair, and engineering services for renewable energy infrastructure across North America as a subsidiary of CBRE Group, Inc. The position focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of utility-scale solar equipment in accordance with established standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub-station equipment.
- Complete documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company handbook and insurance requirements.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants preferred.
- Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment preferred.
- Mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
- Specific experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI preferred.
- Reside within approximately 50 miles of Temple, Texas.
- Comply with OSHA standards while working outdoors in ambient temperatures.
- Lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Work on weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations via telephone or text message as required.
- Travel up to 25% to support company needs.
