Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) role at Pearce Services supports operations and maintenance activities at solar energy sites near Hartford, Connecticut. Candidates must reside within approximately 50 miles of the Hartford area, as all sites are local. The position centers on preventative and corrective maintenance for solar utility and substation equipment, with compensation of $32.00 to $42.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and substation equipment.
• Complete documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control records, and emergency information schedules.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar tools.
• Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to verify proper operation.
• Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company and insurance requirements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants preferred.
• Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Specific experience with inverters, tracker systems, or substation equipment such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI preferred.
• Comply with OSHA standards while working outdoors in ambient temperatures.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts via telephone or text message.
• Up to 25% travel as required to support company operations.
