Job Description

SOLV Energy seeks a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) for full-time work at a utility-scale solar site in Victoria, TX. The position involves maintaining solar equipment and battery storage systems under supervision while following established safety protocols. Specific site details will be provided during the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field maintenance on solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
  • Conduct basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks using monitoring programs.
  • Replace or repair solar parts and equipment under supervision.
  • Respond to on-call requests for emergency equipment repairs as directed.
  • Prepare accurate documentation and reports of completed work.
  • Operate and maintain company property, equipment, and tooling.
  • Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for energized systems.
  • Assess processes and coordinate with management on potential improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Prior experience in a mechanical or electrical environment through formal training or work history.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to identify and apply Lock Out/Tag Out procedures on energized parts.
  • Basic knowledge of solar plant installations and testing equipment.
  • Basic computer operation skills.
  • NFPA 70e Safety Training certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
  • Ability to work on-call schedules that may include weekends or after-hours.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for training, certifications, and site coverage.
  • Physical capability for frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
  • Constant finger dexterity, close and distance vision, hearing, talking, and depth perception required.
  • Occasional climbing, carrying, and work in high or difficult-to-access areas near moving mechanical parts.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
