Solar Field Service Technician - Level 2 (Sardinia, OH) (Temp-to-Hire)

This is a temp-to-hire Solar Field Service Technician - Level 2 role with SOLV Energy in Buford, OH. The position begins on a contingent basis with the possibility of conversion to permanent employment. Work centers on utility-scale solar equipment maintenance at the assigned site.

Responsibilities

• Perform field maintenance and service on solar equipment at multiple solar plants under supervision
• Conduct basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks using monitoring programs
• Replace or repair solar parts and equipment under supervision
• Respond to on-call requests for emergency equipment repairs as directed
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed
• Operate and maintain company property, equipment, and tooling
• Follow all safe work practices and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for energized systems

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Vocational/Technical School training preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical or electrical environment through formal training or prior work experience
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to identify and perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts and systems
• Basic understanding of solar installation or plant operations
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment
• Basic computer operation skills
• NFPA 70e Safety Training certification required
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicle
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, and inclement weather
• Ability to work on an on-call basis that may include weekends or after-hours
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, reach, handle, and lift 50 lbs. or more on a frequent basis
• Ability to work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and in high, exposed, or difficult-to-access places
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
