Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) role at Pearce Services is located in McCamey, Texas and supports operations and maintenance at nearby solar energy sites. Candidates must reside within approximately 50 miles of the McCamey area. The position focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and substation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and substation equipment.
• Complete documentation such as work orders, time logs, inventory control records, and emergency information schedules.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
• Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to verify proper operation.
• Apply Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) procedures during all work activities.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle in compliance with company and insurance requirements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants preferred.
• Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or substation equipment such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI preferred.
• Experience with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
• Capacity to work outdoors in ambient temperatures and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts via telephone or text message.
• Up to 25% travel as required.
• Residence within approximately 50 miles of McCamey, Texas.
