Job Description
Sunrun is hiring a Solar Installer in Houston, TX to join its residential solar installation team. This position involves installing photovoltaic systems on residential properties across the Houston area.
About the Role
You will perform hands-on installation of solar PV systems on residential rooftops, working as part of a crew-based operation. The role requires working at heights, managing multiple tools and materials, and coordinating with team members to complete installations safely and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Install rooftop solar modules, racking systems, and mounting hardware on residential properties
- Run and terminate DC and AC wiring between modules, inverters, and electrical panels
- Perform equipment testing and system commissioning before customer handoff
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to electrical codes during all installation work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized condition
- Coordinate with crew members and supervisors to meet daily production goals
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work safely at heights and on roofs
- Physical capability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds regularly
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
