Solar Installer

Sunrun, America's largest residential solar and battery company, is hiring Solar Installers for its Dallas, TX operations. This role is part of a vertically integrated team responsible for completing residential PV installations from start to finish.

About the Role

As a Solar Installer, you will work alongside the Foreperson and Lead Installer to execute residential solar installation projects. You will be a core member of the construction crew, responsible for hands-on assembly, installation, and site preparation of photovoltaic systems. Safety, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential to success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personal, crew, and job site safety at all times; participate in training on new products, installation methodology, and safety protocols
• Review and stock crew truck inventory at loading dock with materials and equipment as assigned
• Lay out, assemble, and install solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment according to project specifications
• Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
• Clean up job sites and installation vehicles to maintain safe, orderly work environments
• Identify and report safety hazards; encourage coworkers to follow safe work practices

Requirements

• Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and comply with company safety policies and procedures
• Professional and courteous communication with customers and coworkers
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a fast-paced team
• Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance work
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights using fall protection equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wet conditions, humidity, and excessive noise
• Ability to perform fine motor skills including manipulation, grasping, and pinching
• Ability to work safely with ladders, fall protection harnesses, and personal protective equipment
• Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles without causing damage
• Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
• Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
• Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate safety protections
