Solar Installer

Sunrun is hiring a Solar Installer in Georgetown, TX to join residential PV installation teams. You'll work alongside lead installers and forepersons to complete rooftop solar module assembly, racking installation, and electrical setup on single-family homes. This role offers hands-on experience across the full solar installation lifecycle, with opportunities to cross-train on design, inspection, and service work through Sunrun's Power+ program.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal, crew, and jobsite safety; participate in training on products, installation methods, and safety protocols
• Inventory and stock crew trucks with materials and equipment at the loading dock
• Lay out, assemble, and install solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment per project specifications
• Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
• Clean up jobsites and installation vehicles to maintain orderly work environments

Requirements

• Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
• Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work on rooftops of various angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights, maintaining balance on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wet environments, and humidity
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
• Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching; ability to distinguish colors (red, black, yellow, white, green)
• Ability to hear verbal commands and safety warnings
• Ability to use hand tools and work safely with fall protection harnesses and personal protective equipment
• Ability to work with weather-sealing chemicals using appropriate protections
