Job Description

Pearce Services seeks an Advanced Solar Field Service Technician for operations and maintenance work at solar energy sites near Anaheim, California. This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance of utility-scale solar equipment while adhering to established safety and operational standards.

About the Role

You will perform field service operations and maintenance on solar power plants in the Anaheim area. The position requires a candidate living within approximately 50 miles of Anaheim, California, and involves both independent and team-based work at local sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and sub-station equipment
  • Troubleshoot and test installed solar equipment using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar diagnostic tools
  • Maintain documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules
  • Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) procedures
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and in compliance with company and insurance requirements
  • Work independently and collaboratively in field environments
  • Escalate site issues as needed
  • Train and mentor laborers toward apprenticeship advancement

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial or industrial operations and maintenance experience on solar power plants (preferred)
  • Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment (preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills
  • Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment from manufacturers such as TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, or ATI (preferred)
  • Compliance with OSHA standards
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Residence within approximately 50 miles of Anaheim, California
  • Valid driver's license and safe vehicle operation
  • Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on-call telephone/text service
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed

Compensation: $30.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additional eligibility for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool and equipment stipends, per diem, and other applicable compensation.
