Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Pearce Services seeks a Solar Field Service Technician (O&M) to support solar power plant operations and maintenance at utility-scale sites near Mojave, California. This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance of solar equipment, troubleshooting electrical systems, and documentation of work performed. Candidates must reside within approximately 50 miles of Mojave.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and sub-station equipment
• Troubleshoot and test installed solar equipment using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar diagnostic tools
• Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) procedures in compliance with safety standards
• Complete work orders, time logs, inventory control documentation, and emergency information schedules
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per company policy
• Work independently and collaboratively as needed on assigned tasks

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants
• Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and mechanical systems
• Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment (TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI, or equivalent)
• Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment
• OSHA compliance capability
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in varying ambient temperatures
• Availability for weekend, holiday, and on-call service via telephone/text
• Travel up to 25% as needed
• Residence within approximately 50 miles of Mojave, California
